How to raise awareness of
Cardiovascular disease
(CVD)?
Circulatory, or Cardiovascular disease
(CVD) is the leading global cause of death,
responsible for over
19 million deaths
each year.
This project explores how biofeedback data from human bodies can be visualised to communicate complex problems and raise awareness of CVD.
The installation was made with TouchDesigner, Heartbeat sensor and Arduino. Visual responds to the participants' heartbeat.
Process
While working on this project, I experimented with different sensors, including the Heartbeat Sensor and EMG Sensor (to detect muscle contraction).
Early tests with the audience showed that the use of the EMG Sensor was not user-friendly for a large audience, so I decided not to use this sensor in the further development of the project.
